• Creating an atmosphere in which all members feel empowered to express their views and share their concerns.

• Fostering the involvement of all stake-holders (parents, teachers, staff and students) in the decision-making process.

• Providing parents with the information they need not only to advocate effectively for their children but also to contribute to the work of Allen Creek Elementary School.

• Encouraging membership in the Allen Creek Elementary School PTSA as a means of furthering the mutual goals of our school and organization.

ORDER YOUR ALLEN CREEK YEARBOOK TODAY:  Don’t let the memories of this special school year fade.  Purchase an Allen Creek yearbook today!  Send in your order form (or a note with your child’s name, grade and teacher’s name) to school, with $11.50 cash or check made out to Allen Creek PTSA by Friday, February 12.  

ALLEN CREEK PTSA NEEDS YOU!  We’re looking for parents to help out in two important ways for 2010-2011: 

first, if you’re a 4^th grade parent, please consider stepping up to chair the 5^th Grade Transition Committee.  You’ll be in charge of coordinating efforts to smooth your child and his/her classmate’s way to middle school by recruiting volunteers for events like the 5^th grade picnic, the Calkins Road School tour and the 5^th Grade Fun Night.  It’s not as much work as it sounds! 

Second, we need someone interested in taking a leadership role, to volunteer as vice-chair of the Allen Creek PTSA next year.  You’ll work alongside chairperson Julie Bell and learn everything you need to know to take on the chairperson role the following year.
