PTSA PROGRAM ENRICHMENT GRANTS

The Pittsford District PTSA maintains an on-going fund for Program Enrichment Grants.  The PTSA encourages school faculty, staff, school organizations and parents to apply for these funds for a specific project or program. 

These Grants provide funding for start-up programs and are not a source of yearly funding of continuing programs. Monies from the Program Enrichment Grants should be sought only when other funding is unavailable at the building level.  They are intended to supplement existing monies and cannot be relied upon to be the sole means of program/project support.   Criteria for funding include:

*Funding of items that are not part of the regular educational

  program of the  District

*Programs that address District and PTSA missions

*Programs and events that are not otherwise funded

*Programs that impact students

*Funding for groups whose main purpose is child advocacy and 

   parent education

The District PTSA Executive Board reviews all Grant requests. Grant requests will be reviewed by the Committee as they are received. Requests will continue to be accepted until the Grant Money is depleted for the year.  

Recent past grants were awarded for:

• support of math concepts through a musical presention "Calculus, the Musical" 

• provision of start-up costs for an after-school physical activity program for PASS students

• purchase of equipment to support the initiatives of various school based environmental clubs

• special tools to enhance the classroom learning experience such as a measuring tool for math, a fish tank for science and a classroom Jepardy set

• a reconditioned sewing machine for a high school drama program

• professional orchestration of a new alma mater including a student workship

• display systems for a new art gallery space at a Pittsford school

• courtyard renovations

Program Enrichment Grants are not appropriate for training or travel expenses.
